Mistletoe

Where did it start?

We know that the Mistletoe Christmas decoration started at least in the 18th century (although it was not as common as it is today). According to Ancient Christmas custom, a man and woman who met under a handing mistletoe were supposed to kiss. This custom may have first originated in Scandinavia. It was first described in 1820 by an American author.

Today, Mistletoe is still a commonly seen Christmas tradition. Much like in the 18th century, a man and a woman who stand together under a Mistletoe are still supposed to kiss.
